"Is this a sales call"?
âď¸ If youâre making outbound sales calls, youâve no doubt heard this from your prospects at one point or another.
It can often be a really curly one to answer for a lot of people.
The first thing you think of isâŚ
Do you lie or tell the truth?
You might be tempted to try and rationalise a lie...
If youâre a B2B seller, you canât actually take their money on the phone, so itâs not like you can sell them something.
So you might be tempted to say âNoâ I canât sell you anything itâs not a sales call.
âŚbut then youâd be kind of lying, wouldnât you? Because it is a sales call, really isnât it?
Itâs a call about starting the sales process. â so yeah, itâs a sales call.
What would likely happen if you said â âWell yeah itâs a sales callâ?
Theyâre just going to say â âGet off the phoneâ, âŚOr âI donât take cold calls and hang up.
Like many things in sales the real answer is 'it depends'
