The Jeff Nippard Podcast

CHAPTER

The Differences Between Men and Women in Strength Training

There are a few differences that between men and women that have implications for strength training and nutrition. One of them is the aforementioned difference in hormone levels. Women Have a lot more estrogen and estrogen is very beneficial like I said for muscle repair. There's also a corresponding difference in muscle fiber type with women at least strength training women because this is interesting It's not an untrained women But it seems that the fiber type distribution shift differently in women. So they end up with more type 1 fibers fewer type 2 fibers so less explosive muscle fiber composition than men. You can think of these all of these things together as women throughout evolution having adapted more towards endurance training and less for strength training.
