The Costs of Responsiveness
There are costs to jettisoning resilience as a technique and a trait. There are costs to being so sensitive that you abandon resiliency when faced with the choice between exhibiting one of those two characteristics. People can really change their psyches using this kind of training of the mind. We were a very insensitive society and probably continue to still be, we're insensitive and personal interactions. And I think there's maybe logical and social explanation for this.
