A pediatrician read Lisa Miller's new book and said she was noticing some attachment stuff in adolescents. The idea is that a child has at least one, often the mother, but not always, attachment figure to whom they feel secure. Later in life, there is all kinds of research around people's romantic relationships which can mimic those attachments.
