With over 830 million users, the Chinese founded social media app has seen outstanding success around the world. But lately, it's also seen some controversy right here in the United States. In 2020, President Trump moved to ban TikTok from the US, citing concerns around national security and data privacy. Just this year, Congress interrogated the app's CEO, Shochu, about these issues. And now, let's hear directly from Choo himself. At this year's TED conference, Choo spoke with head of TED, Chris Anderson, about building his wildly successful social media app.
