Do Children's Writing Not Be Cohesive?

By adolescence, people have been writing for about 10 years. That's a long time of practice because at age three or four you're learning the alphabet. The book mentions that there's also this advance in thinking from more concrete thinking to more abstract thinking. And they say, this advancement is essential for writing cohesive texts. So does it doom children's writing to not be cohesive? It's quite a pyjation way of thinking like John Piaget. But anyway, it doesn't matter that much because they still have to get up to,. apparently, 10 years to learn these basic skills, apparently.
