CHAPTER

The Life of a Young Pastor

Keith ansell pierson was comfortable with his lutheran background as a young child. But at the age of 17, he has a crisis of faith and abandons theology to become an atheist. He then went on to study philology and theology in university but publicly professed his atheism during that first year. In one of his mature texts, he says, what does your conscience say? And he answers, you should become the one that you are. That's a sort lutheran idea that what's really important is having an individual conscience.
