The Benefits of Knee Replacement Surgery

If you have a really bad patellar tracking problem, that probably ought to have an operation. The reason I think our success rate isn't that great is that that procedure doesn't reverse the wear and tear changes in the joint. That's not really what people are after people are after pain relief with the operation. If they have bone on bone patellofemoral arthritis and are very symptomatic from it, a knee replacement can give pain relief. And interestingly enough, there's a thing that skiers use in Colorado for anterior knee pain, which is like this elaborate pole that goes down the back of their leg to their ski that helps them.
