Assimilate, Not Assimilate
Every time we encounter anything new, we assimilate and accommodate. And that's the engine of how minds change. The strongest motivation you're going to have is to not be ostracized or shamed by your most trusted peers. When these persuasion models come into play, this is something they all acknowledge of front. You need to assure the other person that you are not out to shame them. But when you're training to be a therapist with someone who can push you over the edge, it's one of the fundamental things you learn about yourself.
