I Love Smileys in Emales
i love lots of smiles and excelent exclamation marks. I think your point about kindness is also a kind of an important thing to just recognize when you're send an emales. People are going to interpret what you're sending as more negative than what you're intending. So i think it's important to just recognize that, so you don't send something that makes you look like or people would interpret as a jerk.
