If you can't find a way to demotivate yourself for that behavior, then what other behaviour can i do that also scratches the itch? It's a swapping strategy. And is that true that like, can somebody stop doing something, or do they have to replace it with something else? I think it can be both. Not studied this scientifically, but certainly you can just stop doing behavior. Instead of ice cream a, we started eating yogart, plain yogert. But we would put apples in it and some cinnamon. So now we're not working on triggers, ability or motivation. Now we're swapping what's a different behavior that's a reasonable alternative for the ice cream
