Shunking one thing at a time can be an alternative to malti tasking. In fact, we don't really malti task. We switch task. And what that means is that we're going back and forth between work and technology. The research is really clear that this switch tasking, it slows you down. It increases the likelihood of mistakes. Over a long period of time could diminish working memory.
