Pacing a Marathon

In a marathon, you should start slow and then slow down some more. Every single sense in your body related to how fast you're running is wrong in the first mile of a marathon. In amarathon, call it, i typically advise people to start at least 30 seconds per mile slower than their get paced for that race. And so with those early miles, it's all about starting slow and then making it feel even easier.
