You Have a Choice to Do the Behavior or Not
When you start questioning it the way I'm sharing today, what ends up happening is that you become conscious and conscientious of the steps it takes to get to that coping mechanism. And if you're able to discover, reveal, uncover that origin, then the rest of it kind of falls apart. For example, people pleasing is a dysfunction in many cases. But now I can choose to be a people pleaser at the right time for the right reasons that aren't dysfunctional. My choice makes me in control of my dysfunctions. It's not really a dysfunction.
