Is There a Confirmation Bias in Science?

In certain cases where you have a low prior about something that you're almost right, your confirmation bias leads you towards being more skeptical of those things. And so anytime you see any evidence in favor of that, you may be more likely to be skeptical of it. The opposite approach is good. But so it's only good in the negative direction. It stops us from believing things. I don't know. Maybe sometimes it helps us to discover new things. Many of those might not hold up.
