CHAPTER

The Effect of Placebos on Strength and Exercise in Teens

There was one study of student weightlifters and they were given caffeine which is meant to kind of power you up so you can look like heavier weights. But actually these students showed the increase in strength regardless even though it didn't have the chemical that should have led to that benefit. They performed better than people who received real caffeinated coffee but were told that it was decaf. The expectations there were more important than the actual supplement they were taking. This also has me interested in some of the other research you did around placebos and their impact on on exercise and strength teens. Can you share this?
