Garnat was one of the first wine stores to offer a discount on bordeaux. The new model meant that you didn't want to sit on your stock too long, and send it out at a lower price. New shops were opening up selling fine wines for as little as $1 per bottle. Garnett's strategy helped them win over customers who had been turned off by their old way of doing business.
