How to Take Vitamin C to Reduce Colds
Vitamin C can reduce the length of colds when we get them, if we've been taking it regularly. But sadly, for most of us, preventative Vitamin C doesn't appear to do anything in terms of us catching less colds. The Cockrain Review analysed over 30 studies on almost 10,000 people and sadly, it's really tricky to measure. There was one large trial with adults that did report a benefit from taking an eight gram therapeutic dose when participants first got cold symptoms. Two other trials where people took supplements for five days and reported a benefit.
