I think what's happening here is that TikTok has managed to grab hold of a singular conversation in a way that Instagram reels YouTube shorts. Like TikTok is a different beast. It is more powerful. And again, I think it's the closest comp is when there wasn't as much media and there was just books and movies. But like this has happened before, it's not unprecedented for the US to step in and be like, that's dry. That's controlling too much of ideology in the conversation."
