The Evolution of Memory B Cells
There's still cross reactive epitopes for sure, but the ability to generate new memory B cells is dependent on distance. So an H3N2 challenge is not as similar as the H1N1. And so that would be more able to recall new memory B Cells compared to something that's in the H1 family. But if you got exposure now, it's going to look like this imprinting, right? So you're going to have a much more robust response to the things that you've seen before than the new ones when you're looking at that short term.
