The Role of Ultrasound in Compartment Syndrome
In acute compartment syndrome, there isn't a dire need for imaging. In chronic cases in the setting of chronic exertional, an X-ray can help because it can point to signs of overuse. All CTs really going to show is expansion of the soft tissues and those very vital intermuscular fat planes being effaced.
