Mindfulness Can Facilitate Pro Social Behavior
Research has shown that, at least under some circumstances, better mood can cause people to be more helpful. Another mechanism suggested in past literature is the fact that mindfulness can reduce negative emotions and increase positive ones. But despite their unpleasantness, it is clear that guilt and anger and other negative emotions occupy a very functional place in our lives. Yes, they do motivate behaviors that are really important for relationship maintenance.
