The Effects of Weighted Plyometrics on Patellar Tendon Pain

The reason that tendons get sore after being in a sustained position for a period of time is actually unknown. It may be a water accumulation thing, so we know we have proteoglycans that attract water in there. People with patellar tendon will say, I can't sit in the car for more than two or three minutes. That's a really quite distinguishing feature. The load on the tendon is absolutely enormous with jumping and change of direction. You don't need to add additional weight to be effective in your rehab or you have a very good chance of actually irritating it.
