The Historical Context of Mindfulness

The way in which people often practice mindfulness is they may focus on the breath, while also being aware of other sensations by definition that's multi right. So all of this is to say that the kind of common definition that gets provided may not necessarily fit with the way that it was historically thought of. As a scientist I need something I can actually quantify or measure. And so we make this kind of error intentionally knowing that it's not a perfect equivalent but hoping that it gets us in the ballpark of the thing you're interested in.
