What Is the Point of the Practice?
Shapiro: Legal interpretation is imposing the purpose of an object or a practice. Shapiro ultimately argued we looked at the intent of the designers of the whole system. But for Dworkin, you do this thing called constructive interpretation. So that governs these general principles about how laws are applied.
