There is something to say with a link between personality trites and injury. Just because running as much as you could until you are too tired to run any more doesn't necestarly mean that'sgoing to continue to work for you. Or maybe another way to look at it is, just because running this particular set of workouts and structure had you injury free for the first couple of years doesn't always be the case if you don't also have some tertiary activities to help keep you strong and resilient overtime.
