What's It Like Working in Critical Access Hospitals?

In critical access hospitals, you might be the only ER doctor on for a shift. You might even be the only doctor in the hospital for the entire shift. It was night and day from any experience I'd had in emergency medicine. The way that you practice is really different in those spaces than if you're in a ultra modern level one trauma center where you have dozens of doctors with you.
