Instead of pushing harder for a position they already had, instead of trying to be right, focus on looking for the best decision. To get it right, argue that you're wrong. No straw men arguments allowed. Second silence can be the non confrontational form of being right. That quiet disagreement is at least as damaging, and perhaps more so, than pressing disagreement openly.
