Herme sophonia started when she was six, and it cased problems at home. The hardest part was listening to my parents chew. Most people have no idea that they have it. It's tied in with like, a sensory sensitivity in general. But essentially it can give people extreme panic reactions to certain sounds.
Some sounds bring happy memories flooding back. Other sounds put us on edge; drive us to distraction; or cause us considerable distress. Sound matters... so why don't we pay more attention to our sonic environment?
