i was very struck by how many examples in your piece of revenge architecture, or spite houses, there were from massachusetts. There's something in the american nineteenth century in particular, they seemed to flourish. I suppose it was a kind of free for all. In old europe, people were much freer to build. And i guess it is to do with that long history of o population. Does seem to be particularly a usa phenomenon to spite.
