The Cost of Cage-Free Eggs
Going from cage to cage-free, fraglaying hands, increases the cost of production by about 20%. But that's not the retail price. So when I'm buying the cage-free eggs at the grocery store and I'm paying the $2 extra, it only costs them like a nickel. Once you bring in that new standard, if it becomes the true new standard, well, they'll find a way to make that cheap.
