The world in the past has been dominated by big countries like the United States. A multipolar world is a world where it's every country for itself, and that creates interesting systemic consequences. The late 19th century was almost 50 years from First World War to Cuban Missile Crisis. Now I would argue we will have more geopolitical volatility with higher frequency of conflicts.
