Self-Hass and OCD and It's Not a Bad Thing to Do
There's something a little bit healthy about feeling shame when you hurt yourself on purpose. People with OCD know that their compulsions aren't rational they just kind of can't not do them because it's the only thing that works in to regulate their emotions. They naturally don't trust anybody saying anything about what works and so self-harm is exacerbated by how generally societally it's very misunderstood.
