The Death of Henry V

Henry IV was never entirely secure on the throne, but his son Henry V more than made up for any lingering questions about the rule of what were now the land castry in kings. Medieval rulers were supposed to do exactly two things, deliver justice and make war. By 1421, he had restored order in England after his father's chaotic reign. More important, he had laid the French low in both shocking battlefield victories and long grinding sieges. Thanks to his agreement to marry the daughter of that mentally ill French king, Charles VI, the English crown was poised to take over the French.
