I assume at some point to probably, if you're living in the ocean, your brain doesn't like process the salt as part of that. There's evolutionary advantage to not thinking that the normal baseline environment has a smell or is even detectable. But have you ever been swimming in the ocean and then drank fresh water? Probably. And when the water would go in your mouth from the shower, it would taste sweet because you had to have so much salt water in your mouth all day.
