The Difference Between Asynchronous and Synchronous Communication

In the world of distributed system theory, this is a really big distinction. When you're doing synchronous communication between two parties, you're both doing the communication at the same time. But then when we do asynchronous communication, the sender and the receiver don't have to be communicating at the same times. And so what I think is happening in the world of workplace communication,. if he can bring this long computer science analogy in for a landing here, is we forget this that it's more overhead up front to set up a real time interaction.
