Reusing Hops in the Boil?

Dean Obeidallah: Why do we even put hops in the boil? What happens to hops after they're boiled? He says some brewers are using five to six pounds per barrel of hops. That's a huge amount of spent material, and if you've got two thirds of the remaining bitterness in there, that's a lot of opportunity to reuse those hops for dry hopping or redry hopping. "There's still potential to look at reusing the spent dry house for additional dry hopping," he says.
