Variations in Exercise Enhance Strength Gains
There is a study by Fonseca and colleagues, which came out in like 2014. They had people doing only the Smith machine squat or the Smith machine deadlift, leg press and lunges. And there was basically this hierarchical adaptation where the group that was varying load and exercise have the best adaptations for strength. So if anything, again, these are untrained individuals, so it could be a little different for, you know, a well trained power lifter or something like that.
