I think people shouldn't beat themselves up if they slip up every now and then, as long as it's not something completely reckless. The advice that I often give myself is just you want to try and treat yourself how you treat other people because often we just turn the gorilla mind on. Most people get injured after like two weeks holiday and they come back to the gym, injured because they try to lift the same weights in a sense of volume. And you can't. You need to respect that you took two weeks off. These muscles also went on a break to start over. Go back like 10% and then go back until you're back to 100% and then start progressively overloading
