S tep inhibitors are a new class of drugs that target the liver and intestine. They work by inhibiting lipo proteins, which transfer particles from cells to other parts of the body. This is called reverse callestral transport or colestral esther transfer protein. A c tep inhibitor will stop this process in its current form. It's not clear if low h d l c means you're deficient at dropping it off - but high would be bad.
