Pedagogy of the Oppressed - Paulo Freire

Red Menace

CHAPTER

How Does Freer's Theory of Power Affect the Work of Organizers?

Freer uses a fairly abstracted analysis of power he discusses a pressed and oppressor but rarely gives a more specific explanation of who the oppressors are. i think that as brat referenced earlier it raises a whole host of questions that are hard to deal with such as for example can one be an oppressed person and an oppressor in other contexts and how do we deal with that? freer probably does have a fairly complicated view of different kinds of oppressions in relation to each other throughout the text. In chapter three we see freer talk in depth about the way that different contradictions and the forms of violence around them are all interconnected to each other  and form a broader social totality.
