Is That What You Need in the Debate Lesson?
When I was an accountant for a period, I worked on the World Council of Churches. That threw me into overseas situations and changed me pretty fundamentally. And that's been a pattern all my life is do things which are novel or at the edge. It comes back to what I said earlier. The more you read, the more patterns you've got to draw on. People become over-specialized too early in education these days. We're not creating processes which achieve results. We're trying to achieve the results directly. And that never really works with humans.
