The History of High Jumping in the 70s
Long jumpers in the 70s were jumping well over 8 meters. Forefoot oriented take off to conserve elastic energy and even had like runways that were I don't know 30 centimeters or 20 centimeters above the ground whatever it was. It actually became part of our some of our workouts is that we would do a little bit when someone was trying too hard and they were really coming in and just slamming a takeoff.
