I grew up with a former cult follower in the family when my dad was in high school. His father who was sort of hippie in a pseudo-intellectual sort of forced him to join this pretty notorious cult that was situated in the bay area at the time called synon. My dad joined when he was 14 against his will and until that point he'd grown up like in the school of hard knocks living in poverty in Spanish Harlem New York in Manhattan in the 50s and 60s. I did not know this. I mean I knew that this was inspired by your dad but I have never heard of that cult before. Yeah so it's one of the slightly more under the radar
