If inflation comes down much more rapidly than they expect, it's plausible that we could get cuts even in the absence of recession. The Federal Reserve restarted QE and was cutting rates about five months before COVID wasn't even there. And therefore this idea that we're permanently reprising capital, cheap forever is just nonsense to me.
