Is European Colonialism Racist?
The Cherokees of the Americas were racist towards other Native Americans. The Bantu were racist towards all of the black African tribes they conquered as they imperialized southern Africa. I mean, everyone was a racist if by that term we mean the assumptions by group A that the members of group B are inferior and deserve to be conquered if they can be. That's a universal human phenomena. And it arises from evolutionary needs for basically in group solidarity. So to say that the Europeans were racist is just to state the obvious because all peoples were racist. If it's not a statement of the obvious, then it's patently false.
