Martin Luther: A Weird Dude

Luther was always pretty intense. By our standards he was very clearly depressed. He called these fits unfeckedal, where he would be so taken aback by his own inadequacy as a believer. You cannot separate this aspect of Luther's kind of personality of his just ongoing belief that he is not good enough and therefore you need an omnipotent savior to do the saving for you.
