The Mainstream View of the Flush

The mainstream view of the flush is that it's a nuisance side effect. The GPR 109A receptor mediates nicotinic acid induced flushing, according to one study. But in this paper, they're calling Puma G, the mouse version of the receptor and GPR109A, the human version of it. So there is GPR 109a activation going on because it's still somewhat up regulated. It's not completely silenced until there's cancer.
