Paul ecklan was watching the video of this patient over and over and over again. He noticed that right before the patient lied, she made a very brief sadness mikeho expression. And he realized that there's something too reading facial expressions to discover hidden emotions. So he took this research and he travelled to remote regions in papa new guinea. The faces they made were strikingly similar to when he asked americans that question. Basically that we somehow have these universal responses to these emotions. There are seven universal ones.
