Do You Need to Freeze Your Butter Before Incorporating It to Pie Crust?
You don't need to freeze your butter, but you do want it as cold as possible. One trick that I like to do is put the butter a whole stick into the freezer and then grate that butter on a box grater. That's a really great way to incorporate butter into pie crusts or scones or biscuits. Judge John Hodgman reenters the courtroom and presents his verdict.
